Possession and Infected: MW4's Halloween modes explained
Possession lets you take over the enemy you just eliminated, wherever they were standing. Infected is back too. Here's how both work.

Two Halloween modes arrive before Season 1. Possession is brand new; Infected is a long-standing favourite.
Possession (from 29 October)
When you eliminate an enemy, you can possess them. You jump to where they were standing and take their loadout. Every eliminated enemy can be possessed, so you’re constantly swapping body, position and kit mid-fight.
The official blog suggests using possessions as shortcuts: chain them to reach a Hardpoint, or into a Search & Destroy bombsite. It also advises checking what an enemy is carrying before you take them over. A sniper on the far side of the map might not be the body you want.
Our tip: before a push, eliminate someone already close to the objective. Their position becomes yours.
Infected (from 30 October)
The classic rules are back. One random player starts as Infected, and every Survivor they eliminate joins them. Survivors try to hold out to the end of the round. It’s a party mode, so it’s a relaxed place to try new builds and level weapons you don’t usually use.
How long will they stay?
Infinity Ward has only confirmed both as Pre-Season 1 modes timed for Halloween. Their exact end dates haven’t been announced.
