What's confirmed

  • Free, and now on Switch 2

    You still don't need Modern Warfare 4 to play. Season 1 brings Warzone to Nintendo Switch 2 and ends it on PS4 and Xbox One; your progress moves over if you sign in with the same Activision account.

  • Modes at launch

    Battle Royale and Resurgence, each with a Casual version. Limited-time modes include Rally Point (a no-circle practice mode on Zodiac), Massive Resurgence for up to 120 players on Hajin, and Loaded Resurgence, where you drop in with your own loadout.

  • The Gulag is back

    Your first death in Battle Royale sends you to a 1v1 to win your way back in. Hajin has two Gulag layouts, and spectators can watch from ground level for the first time.

  • Perks and movement

    You get three Perk slots, plus a fourth for an Elite Perk you find during the match. Tactical Sprint no longer needs a Perk but lasts a little less, and you can drag a teammate into cover while reviving them.

  • Your old items carry over

    Operators, skins and weapon blueprints from MWII, MWIII, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 come with you. Older guns sit in a Legacy tab and can't be changed in Gunsmith.

  • Shared with MW4

    Warzone and MW4 share one Battle Pass (100 tiers, 1,100 COD Points for Premium), and all 33 MW4 launch weapons are in Warzone.

There's no date yet for the mid-season update. We'll add it once it's official.

Warzone loadouts

Builds land after the switch

Warzone plays differently to multiplayer, with longer fights and bigger mags, so we only post builds once we've run them in the new Warzone. Until then, the MW4 multiplayer meta shows which guns are strongest.
