MW4 known issues: loadout saving, missing stats and DMZ Prestige bugs

The bugs Activision and Infinity Ward have officially acknowledged in Modern Warfare 4's first week, what's fixed and what's still under investigation.

Modern Warfare 4’s first week has come with a handful of bugs that Activision and Infinity Ward have publicly acknowledged. Here is what is officially on the list, what has already been fixed, and what is still being worked on.

Still open (officially acknowledged)

Activision’s known-issues page was last updated on 23 October, so some of these may already be fixed by the 24 and 25 October updates.

  • Can’t save loadouts in Multiplayer (all platforms): under investigation, no workaround yet.
  • Stats missing from Combat Record and Leaderboards (all platforms): a display problem only; Activision says your stats are still being tracked.
  • No launch button in COD Home (Xbox app on PC): under investigation. Activision suggests checking you haven’t hit Microsoft’s 10-device limit and installing any MW4 content packs you’re missing.
  • Can’t Prestige an active Operator in DMZ (all platforms): under investigation. The official workaround is to meet the requirement with Rare weapons that have three or fewer attachment slots and have never had four or more attachments.
  • DMZ Free Loadout spawning with no weapons: listed by Infinity Ward as under investigation.
  • Classic Prestige class bug: players who entered Classic Prestige through the DMZ menus can’t make new Multiplayer classes until they delete classes holding relocked items. Infinity Ward lists a fix as in testing.

Already fixed

The 24 and 25 October updates cleared several launch bugs, including:

  • loadouts not clearing on Prestige and attachments not resetting on Weapon Prestige;
  • a freeze when first editing a loadout mid-match;
  • DMZ weapon builds showing up in core Multiplayer;
  • DMZ Gunsmith camos and reticles charging DMZ cash;
  • saved DMZ builds charging the full Blueprint price;
  • players being AFK-kicked while spectating.

Exploits

Both updates closed unnamed DMZ exploits. In Search & Destroy, a “bomb stretching” problem is back for now: the first fix stopped some players picking up the bomb, so it was rolled back on 25 October, and Infinity Ward says a new fix is on the way.

We’ll update this list as Infinity Ward posts fixes.
