MW4 2 November update: fewer DMZ UAV towers, longer Sedative Inhaler and dive speed restored
The last update before Season 1 cuts DMZ UAV towers by 40%, doubles the Sedative Inhaler, restores full dive speed and starts fixing Shipment spawns.

Infinity Ward pushed one more update on 2 November before Season 1 arrives. It goes after some of the most common DMZ complaints, starts work on Shipment spawns and closes a handful of exploits. Season 1 patch notes are due on Thursday 5 November at 9 PM PT, just before the season goes live.
Global
- Dive speed is back. A temporary exploit fix had cut dive velocity by 23%. That cut has been reverted, and prone-to-standing transitions that skipped their animations are fixed. Infinity Ward warns of some minor animation glitches until a later fix.
- JOKR Launcher: Infrared mode is switched off for now while an exploit is fixed.
- KG-9: the Drill Charge Apex Attachment has been fixed.
- General crash and stability fixes across all modes.
Multiplayer
- Shipment spawns get a first pass of tuning, with more to follow.
- The After Death Damage widget is easier to read, with a simpler colour scheme and separate left and right body parts.
- Death Skull icons on the HUD are dimmer and less opaque.
- Free for All now shows the Final Killcam instead of Best Play. Voice chat outside your party in FFA is still being worked on.
- Out-of-bounds exploits on Sentry and Mumbai have been closed, and a tree visual bug on Mumbai is fixed.
- Challenge fixes: Cash Mastery’s Loaded challenge now tracks in Inflation, and destroying friendly vehicles in Ground War: Combat Outpost no longer counts.
- Bright lasers no longer leave the centre dot on screen during weapon inspects.
DMZ
- UAV towers now spawn randomly and 40% less often, so not every POI is guaranteed one. Deadtown keeps its tower because a DMZ Order needs it.
- The Sedative Inhaler now lasts 120 seconds instead of 60. It still doesn’t hide you from towers triggered by enemies with the UAV Upgrade trait; that fix is planned for a Season 1 update.
- The Truce Flag cooldown drops from 180 to 60 seconds.
- Fixes for UAV tower objectives showing the wrong status, retired Active Duty Operators not saving, SAM Site captures failing after another squad gave up on one, and Bounty progress resetting between deployments.
- Several DMZ exploits were closed.
Campaign
- The Hits Different finishing move now unlocks reliably once its requirements are met.
