MW4 DMZ+ Operators and BlackCell DMZ perks: what paid content now does in DMZ

Some store and Vault Edition skins now carry a permanent DMZ Prestige Trait, and BlackCell adds extra FOB vendor slots, daily rewards and Weapon Manuals in DMZ.

Activision’s Season 1 store and BlackCell breakdown, published on 5 November, confirms that paid content now brings gameplay perks into DMZ, not just cosmetics. The changes went live with Season 1 and have drawn “pay-to-win” criticism from players and coverage across Call of Duty news outlets. Here’s what actually changes.

DMZ+ Operators

Certain Operator skins are now DMZ+ Operators: they come with a permanent DMZ Prestige Trait already active.

  • The trait belongs to that skin only. Switch the Operator to a different skin and the trait goes with it.
  • Vault Edition skins are included: COM SFT, KSK Amphibious, South Korean Special Forces and SAS get Die Hard Pro; Price and Valeria get Free Revive Pro; Ghost and Blix get Field Crafting Pro.
  • Most DMZ-enabled Season 1 Store Bundles also come with an extra Active Duty Operator slot and a DMZ Prestige Trait.
  • The cap doesn’t change: an Operator can still hold three Prestige Traits at most, so using a DMZ+ trait at the cap means swapping one out.

If you’re new to traits, our DMZ beginner’s guide explains how Operator Prestige works.

BlackCell perks in DMZ

On top of the FOB vendor that BlackCell already unlocked, owners get:

  • More vendor stock: the FOB vendor offers BlackCell players an extra weapon and up to four pieces of Equipment.
  • Daily rewards: a new item (Printer ingredients, for example) every 24 hours, collected at the BlackCell Bunker entrance at the FOB. They don’t stack, so a reward you skip is gone when the next one appears.
  • Weapon Manuals: every BlackCell Blueprint you earn lets you craft its base weapon in the DMZ Gunsmith. Manuals also come from unlocking the season’s free base weapons (the Cronen Osprey and CSG-35) and from Store Bundles with a weapon Blueprint or the Vault Edition.
  • FOB visuals: upgraded tent materials, kept for as long as you own BlackCell.

Earned Blueprints can be taken into DMZ until you fail to exfil with them; after that you can buy them back at a discount.

Other Season 1 bundles

The same post lists the first Season 1 Store Bundles, including the Glitched State Mastercraft tracer pack (with a reactive Cronen Osprey Blueprint), Bone Chiller II, The Valkyrie, The Captain and Elite Squad: Gaksuli, a four-skin pack that gives a 20% XP boost in a party of two and 30% in a party of three while those skins are equipped.
